Who am I?
Before I picked up an abacus and a scale ruler for a living, I spent six years working in my uncle's small contracting company learning the industry from the ground up, quite literally. During that time, I also completed my Bachelor's degree, balancing study with the day-to-day realities of a busy site.
Over those years, I wore more hats than I can count. I laboured for the real tradesman, had a go at operating heavy machinery (very poorly and under strict supervision), and took on whatever the job required. But it wasn't long before I found where I genuinely excelled measuring and valuing work.
That experience shaped the way I approach quantity surveying today. I understand contracting from the inside out. The pressure of tight margins, the importance of getting numbers right the first time, and what contractors actually need from a take-off or BOQ.
Now, I bring that same practical approach to every project I take on, helping contractors price with confidence and get on with the job.
